Classes

Open Classes

Classes for the Spring term will begin on January 4th and will end on February 22nd.

In order to maintain an optimum learning environment, class sizes will be limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis. If a class is marked "Closed", you may still register but will be placed on a waiting list. You will then be notified if a seat becomes available or another section of the same class opens.

Each Unit will provide several cooperative learning opportunities as well as a field trip related to the theme.

Expectations

Students will be expected to:

Grading

In general, I will not be assigning letter grades to the student's work. I do not want students simply "working for the grade". I will collect the work for review, give comments to the students and then most will be shared with the other students in class. After that, it will be sent home with them for parents to review. Upon special request, I will assign a grade to the work. At any point in time a parent can request an update on their child's progress, and at the end of the unit I will send home a "report card" to let the parents know exactly what material was covered and how their student did.

Location

All classes are held at:
Tikvat Israel Congregation
2715 Grove Ave
Richmond, 23220
(on the corner of Boulevard and Grove)

Tuition

The fee is $12 per class ($96 per session)

There are three payment options to choose from:

  1. One-time payment of $96 before or on the first day of class
  2. Half before or on 1st day of class ($48), half by last day of class ($48)
  3. $12 each week

Payments may be mailed in or brought to class.
